RULES
“Memory and Oblivion — Black & White Perspectives”
To mark World Alzheimer’s Day (21 September), we are launching an open call for a black and white photography exhibition that explores themes of memory, forgetting, identity, and time. The exhibition will be held at our pop-up gallery in Belgrade in September 2025.
We invite photographers from around the world to submit works that reflect on the fragility of memory, the erosion of identity, and the traces left behind by time and loss. Whether through personal stories, conceptual approaches, documentary perspectives, or poetic imagery, this exhibition aims to open a visual dialogue on what it means to remember — and to forget.
Black and white photography photos, works that engage with the concepts of memory, oblivion, ageing, identity, absence, or time. Personal, collective, or symbolic approaches, both documentary and artistic styles are welcome
SUBMISSION DEADLINE
The final deadline for submitting proposals is 7th September 2025 at 23:50 (local time, Belgrade).
Each participant may submit a maximum of 4 photographs.
Selected artists will be notified by email on 12th September 2025.
EXHIBITION & PRODUCTION DETAILS
All selected photographs will be printed and professionally framed free of charge for the exhibition. Only the 9 selected photographs will be subject to a €40 production fee, covering the cost of printing. Payment can be made via PayPal or bank transfer to a European account.
The photographs will be printed to fit the following frame sizes: 70×50 cm and 50×40 cm, depending on the image and curatorial decision.
All selected artists will receive the final list of participating photographers once the selection is confirmed.
After the exhibition ends, all prints will be archived by Бартcелона for potential inclusion in future free group exhibitions.
The high-resolution files and physical prints will be destroyed two years after the exhibition closes.
In the event of purchase interest from a collector, Бартcелона will connect the buyer directly with the artist. Бартcелона will assist with delivery logistics, but all sales negotiations and payments will be handled exclusively between the artist and the buyer.
